Indonesia Vulnerable to Overheating

BALI (IFT) – Indonesia’s economy is considered to be vulnerable to overheating because of the high number of currency in circulation in society due to high inflation. Jeffrey Frankel, Harpel Professor of Capital Formation and Growth at Harvard University said that aside from Indonesia, China, India and Singapore are also prone to overheat.

In an international seminar of International Monetary Fund (IMF) in cooperation with Bank Indonesia (BI) , Frankel stated that those four Asian countries have high economic growth. But behind the growth, their inflation is also high.
